12/7/11 - Tapering

Today begins the Tapering/Active Recovery days in preparation for the Gorilla Games. The goal is to allow our muscles, tendons, and central nervous system some time to recover before the competition.

Mobility Work - 20 min

Deadlift Technique - using light weight, work on lifting and lowering form

Double Unders - 4x100

Tomorrow will be a full rest day. Friday I plan on doing more mobility and technique work and a short low intensity run/jog.

  1. I spent some time on the foam roller and warming up really well.

    KB Power Snatches @ 30 lbs = 2x10; @ 50 lbs = 1x5

    Worked on my Deadlift technique. I also timed my 3 reps of deadlifts:
    - At normal/full speed, it took 7 seconds.
    - At a slower pace for heavier weights, it took about 13 seconds.
    - When I dropped the weights from the top position, it took about 14 seconds.

    DU: 4x100

    Pushups: 25,25,25,25,25,25,25,25,50,50
